Too much lighting?

8O I just ordered the IceCap 660 with 4 24" bulbs(75 watts each). Two are 50/50 and two are actinic. My tank is a 46Gallon Bow Front. I am setting up a small reef system with live sand and live rock. Is 300 Watts too much lighting?

That is a good question, I plan on putting in a sponze or two, some worms, soft corals and a few fish. At this point, that is only a guesstimate.

6.52 per gallon is a lot of light but in my opinion is not to much. With that much lighting most anything could be sustained. Some corals may need to be more hidden from the light but that is fairly easy to do with LR.

glenn10 that lighting will be good enough for most soft corals and LPS.Maybe even some SPS if you get them close to light.I agree with seahawk that super daylight instead of 50/50 along with the actinics might have been a better choice.You would get a better mix of light spectrum.
