I have a Yellow leather coral that isnt attached to any rock. What can I do to keep this coral in place. It is being pushed around the aquarium slightly because of the current. :? Should I attach it to a piece of live rock and if so how can I do this? Thanks for any help

I usually just attach the base to a chunk of live rock rubble with a rubber band. Make the rubberband just tight enough to grab and hold- If you make it too tight, it will rot around the rubberband. Normally, it will grab hold in a week or two.

you can also place it between two larger rocks-then push the rocks together, to where there is light squeeze(pressure) on the leather(although it will then attach itself to both-but then you may end up with it colonizing both rocks!  )

leathers will basically attach to anything they continually touch under light pressure-people have even pierced them through the middle with plastic cable ties, to attach 'em-though this increases the risk of an infection.

the rubber band idea is great-just use a wide band, to reduce the risk of 'pinching' the stem too much.

I just close my powerheads and then place it on top of a live rock, leaving it till it sticks. (usually takes up to 3 dayz) then when its stuck then turn back on the powerheads.

I would definately advise against shutting down your water circulation just to get a specimen to attach. They are easy enough to attach by putting them between rocks or a rubberband. Even short term, crippling your current could have very bad effects on your nitrates/ bacteria/ cyano.
