Mandalay Bay has a large public aquarium, although I've personally never seen it since it's way at the end of the strip. That's probably the biggie, unless I'm forgetting something. There is a nice round tank in the Forum shops at Caesar's. Probably about 10,000 gallons rough guess, maybe a bit more.

I went to a salt water lfs advertised in the local yellow pages. It was the saddest display of sick and overpriced animals I have ever seen. They had the biggest ad in the book too. They had very few tanks and not many critters in them. Total waste of time.

Kool! Now I know where to look when I get there. Which one is best BTW ? Mandaly Bay are Cesars ?

I think I stick with my LFS and buy fishes in Hawaii instead in 2 weeks.
The thought of having a big ad with serveral tanks is a waste, it would be way to hot in NV to see serveral tanks.

Never bothered to go to mandalay to see aquariums. After seeing Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Aquarium of Pacific, I don't really think any others are worth the extra trip.

As noted, the tank at Caeser's is waaaaaay down at the end of a corridor in the Forum shops. They have a big King Neptune show-type-thing there once or twice a day.

Mandalay Bay I believe has a number of large tanks, including a shark exhibit. As I mentioned I've never been there, but I believe it is a fairly substantial public aquarium, as opposed to just the single tank at Caesar's.

I tried to see that was sold out ! I saw one of their shows here in Miami! They have an awesome show. They were here for about a month, but everybody talks about "o" !! It's usually sold out 2-3 months in advance ! Make a call if you can !

No problem, Peter. On the topic of shows, if you can't get into O I would recommend a magician like Lance Burton. A nice break from the tables. Sit close so you can try to figure out how he does it all. It was a mystery to me. I wish I could make birds fly out of my hands with my sleeves rolled up past my elbows. Actually, I wish I could make live rock do that. I'd save a bundle.

peter, here's a link to the shark reef at mandalay bay:
http://www.mandalaybay.com/entertainment/shark/index.jsp
it's certainly worth checking out, but don't expect real corals. the fish and sharks are very real though.

the big round aquarium at caesar's is at the end of one of the halls in the forum shops mall. it's right outside the virgin megastore.

the mirage also has a decent aquarium behind their registration desk.

hope you have fun on your visit to sin city. good luck.[/u]
