Sponges die if they touch air. So make sure when you buy it, that the LFS baggs it underwater. Air clogs the pores in the sponge, making it imposible for it to feed. Sponges dont like lighting, cuase algea will clogg the pores. Also, they like pretty hard current, so it will be harder for algea to grow. HTH

Umm, I didn't see any sponges in the link provided. Since you can't really ID sponges by looking at them. I can only say I had an orange ball sponge and a yellow ball sponge and both faired pretty poorly. Whatever food source they used of some specific size seems to be lacking in tanks.

The hitch hiker sponges that came on the live rocks are doing fantastic. I have purple, yellow, white, peach, orange colored sponges all over the place in the shady undersides of rocks. Nothing anyone else would notice.
