I seem to be having a nasty Red-Slime outbreak but only in my Refugium. Was using a LOA and switched to a 13w PC 8800k bulb and no change, slime keeps growing. The main tank doesn't seem to show any signs of the slime with the exception of a little bit on a red sponge that seems to be dying anyways to I am going to remove it anyways.

What gives? Why only in Refugium? What Can I do?

Thanks

Slime gets its best foothold in areas of sedimentation/settling. Clean out the slime that is there, increase circulation, and add some carbon to lower your DOCs.

Look at the slime as being your best friend, it is robbing your show tank of po4.
Differences in lighting spectrum and flow rates are why it doesn't take hold in your show tank. Might sound radical but I consider red slime , hair algae, etc etc an asset as long as it stays in the fuge or sump. 8)
