this kind of supports the theory that ich is always present in tanks.....
havent added any new fish or anything for that matter in about 5 weeks.
my power and heat went out for about 7 hours on last saturday,
and it was cold and windy outside and my house is very drafty.
the tank dropped about 6 degrees.
on sunday afternoon, i noticed a few white spots and fish scratching.
well ive been holding putting any treatment in the tank, hoping it would kind of clear itself up but that isnt happening. not getting much worse, but its not getting any better.
what treatment seems to give the best results without harming any corals or other inverts? ive never had this problem before and was dreading this day but knew it would come eventually. any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming compatability with other inhabitants

1 or more pacific cleaner shrimp and/or neon gobies.

Cleaner wrasses will immediately pick your fish clean - but they have a miserable long term (even short term) survival rate in aquariums.

Soak your food in garlic (either natural garlic, with juice extracted with a garlic press - or a commercially available extract like Kent garlic extreme).

If you have UV, run it 24/7.

I have this problem in my 120g reef and these approaches have worked.
