I've had some splits take a few days. I wouldn't worry unless they start to bleach. If they start to bleach they will starve eventually.

Heres some pictures of my recent split, in this case mine did take on a figure eight shape before spliting. I also noticed a few days before the split the mouth seemed strecthed more then normal. IMO the most likely cause of a split right after purchase of an anemone would be due to foot injury. If the dealer ripped the foot even a little when removing the anemone it might cause the split.

It wasn't that, because he gave me the whole rock it was attached to. I'm starting to think dropping a rock on my BTA isn't such a bad idea because it will make him split! He's now been in the tank a week, and although looking great, feeding well, and settled in one spot he has not split. I posted a while back on the first one I bought that had all but three or four tentacles ripped off by my female maroon clown. This one is also doing a lot better and has grown back half of its original tentacles. I feed half a cube of formula one to the big one and about an eighth a cube to the smaller one. So I know they're doing well. I'm just going to be patient.

It split today. I saw no clue or evidence that it was going to happen. The only thing I've done different in the tank is to feed the BTA a whole lot more. I've done no recent water changes, no physical trauma, etc. I'm still a bit clueless as to why these guys split.

Mine just split on Apr 1 and that's no joke. Not stress or water change etc induced in this case. In the pic, 2nd one is hiding in the background behind the first one.
