got an allowance for some reef goodies for X-Mas. Yahoooo .

Now, I have posted on this before but I figured maybe one more time couldn't hurt. I keep changing my mind.

58 Oceanic (36x18x21) SPS, Clams, LPS.

Here we go.....

Skimmer - Euroreef or a My Reef?
Pumps - Return Mag7?
Lights - Will biuld a canopy for this. Heat is a big issue with this as well. 2 Fans in the canopy.

2 - 250W
1 - 250W HQI
2 - 150W HQI
1 - 400W 20K Radium

Actinics? How much?

I will be adding a closed loop with a seaswirl in a few months probably running a iwaki 20rlt.

I have the same tank, I'm sure a mag 7 will work fine, but the Mag 9.5 that I'm using works really good, just saying that if you wanted to bump the flow up you could.

Wouldn't the mag 9 be too much? I believe the Oceanic overflow can handle 500 GPH.

The mag 7 is 475 at 4 ft
The mag 9 is 800 at 4 ft

well, all I can say is that it's been working just fine for over a year now. 8)

nothing special really:

2-96w PFO Compact Fluorescent Retrofits.
1-55w smartlight.
a Sea-Life Systems wet/dry sump & skimmer combo set.
2-K324 hospital grade dosing pumps for calcium & Buffer.
1-Wal-Mart clip on fan.
1-container for refugeum.
1- 5 gallon container & a Kent float switch for top off.

I mosly have LP's & Leathers for corals, oh and one Sebae anemone with a healthy apitite.

I think the Skimmer will be my next upgrade. :roll:

oh, by the way, I have my 58G tank in a corner of the room at an angle, other wise my top off container wouldn't fit, my wet/dry is actually on the floor behind my tank, I wish I would have gone larger, oh well, :roll:

I can add a valve to the return if it is too much.

Now to make up my mind on the damn lights..... :x
