I just orderd a large cpr aquafuge. What can i put in there as far as animals go? I would really like a pipefish but i realize that this tank is too small for this size. So what can i put in there, anything?

Um...I wouldn't put any fish in there.
What would be the purpose?

It sites in the back of the tank where you can't see anything.

Besides, a refugium purpose is to house critters, pods, worms, macro algae for your tank.

Just put some live sand, brittle worms, spagetti wrms and some capelra in there. That will be benifical to your tank.

If you fell a need for a fish. Put him in the main tank.
Not your fuge.
Fuge is too small for something like that anyway.

yah the fuge is for either sick fish or macro and such. If you really want a fish I would put maybe a small clown or damsel, but I wouldn't.

Ok...but why put a fish in a Fuge when it hangs on the back and ya can't see anything?
What would be the purpose?

Plus..a Fuge is NOT for sick fish.
You put sick fish in a Quaritine tank (sperate tank).
Putting a sick fish in a fuge would do nothing to protect the other fish in the main tank from getting sick.

Fuge purpose in being made is to house critters, supply natural food for the main tank and grow macro algaes such as Caparla.

too small for any fish, really. maybe a hermit crab, but like others have said, that would be detrimental to food production in the fuge.

a sump/fuge is a different story. i have a friend who did a really nice job building a stand that would display the fuge side of his, where he keeps caulerpa, some live rock and a madarin.
