Anyone else here ever had xenia release eggs in their aquarium? My original bunch of xenia (from 2 years ago) has spread and become about 10. Yesterday, 2 separate bunches were all shriveled up and began releasing eggs. My fish and cleanup crew showed no interest in eating them (maybe they taste as bad as xenia smells), so they spread all around the tank. Are these eggs likely to survive and grow? As if xenia doesn't spread fast enough anyway, now my tank is filled with potential little xenias all over the place.

Yep, I have seen pictures of Xenia releasing eggs at last year's MACNA. Check Dr. Benayahu's talk.

I didn't realize xenia did this either, untili saw it happening. Sorry, don't have any pics, but basically it looks like little bunches of xenia colored eggs working their way out from between all the shriveled up polyps. It was cool to see, since I've never seen a coral release eggs in my tank before.
