Hi everybody, i just want to now how much are your light bills. My bill is monthly $200.00 and some times more. Ralphyhp.

And how big is your tank? what kind of lighting you have? what about pumps, etc? How about water usage on a monthly basis? I would really like to know those costs too!

Ralphyhp - does your location negatively impact your electric bill? How much are you paying per kwh?

I use about 3100 KwH per month and about 1800-2000 of it is my tanks. My total bill at non summer rates is about $250 but with summer rates it's about $350. I live in Baltimore and we have pretty cheap electricity rates.

My electric bill went up about $50-$70 a month. My KWH per hour is 4.613¢ I have 3 x 400w metal halides, 6 x 55w pc actinics, 1/3hp chiller, etc...

Not sure what Southern CA's kilowatt/hour rating is...but I think I'm paying about $50-75 a month.

I refer to total cost includding air conditioners, christmass trees, ect. Dzhuo i use on my tank 4 ballast, three 250w mh and one 660w vho, three 4" fans, one iwaki 40rlxt water pump, one 1/4 chiller, another pump for the skimmer. I post this question beacause Im planning to set up again my 55g tank that i shuttdown for my 125g new tank. I have everything for this tank i only have to made a new stand and few misscelaneous and thats it. I need to learn how to calculate my light consumption, let me practice with ChrisIsBored calculator and thanks for the replyes, Ralphyhp.

$480 last bill!!! My wife informed me that it is 3 times the cost of last years month. 750 gal., 1 hp chiller, 5 pumps, 2100 watts lighting. Can anyone top this?

Ouch. Texman, that's gotta hurt. That'll be pretty tough to beat.

I never really noticed any increase in my power bill. I'm sure it costs something. But the tank is only 75G and I have 570W of lighting, pumps, PH's, another 65W over the fuge.

Sound like I need to consider this increase when I go for my dream 300G, huh?

Hey, I am in the land of Con Edison however I pay about $250 in the winter and $400 in the summer. It would be much worse if I used a chiller. I figure that by using fans, I save $100 / month
