 if anyone has looked at the FFExpress 'Collector's Corner' site today, you'll see (at least as of right now) a 2" goldflake angel. i purchased this fish minutes after they opened for business. not only did i get a verbal confirmation from the manager that the fish was available, i got a confirmation e-mail from Robert (the sales person i worked with, who was extremely helpful) finalizing the sale (this included my credit card # as well, which i had given over the phone to buy the fish) for shipment today. 10 minutes after receiving the email, Robert called me to tell me that their 'supplier' had sold the fish to someone else, and that my fish wasn't really in FFE's possession at anytime. needless to say i am totally p...er...upset. this is a really cheesy way of doing business.

i have been quite pleased with FFE in the past (i purchased a lineatus wrasse from them 2 weeks ago, among other things, that is doing great), but this is really disturbing. just make sure you confirm that they actually are in possession of the fish before you get your heart set on something.

btw...anyone out there know of a reputable dealer who has a 2" healthy goldflake angel IN STOCK???????????

Everytime I order from FFE they end up not shipping something I ordered. This really enraged me the first time when I ordered Monday, and was told it was in stock, for Sat delivery. Sat I see that they didn't charge me for 2 fish that they didn't ship. Guess they sold them to someone else during the week. You think they'd put them on hold for me. Nope! They told me next time they would call to let me know, as maybe instead of a yellow assessor I'd take a blue assessor. That didn't happen either. :? [/u]

I have good experiences with FFexpress in the past. Given the high box charge, its disturbing they would ship anyway without some of the fish you had ordered - thereby forcing you to incur another charge for a reorder when the fish is in stock. They probably should ship you the fish for free when it is available.

I understand your feeling on this,
but i don't see it as shafted, more like inconvienced.

I've ordered a number of times from FFExpress, and have experienced exactly what you did, i order from the collector corner, I get the email and everything is honkydory until the day they ship and then they call and tell me the item is out of stock.
While i certainly don't appreciate what happened, there could be alot worse. They could send you all kinds of misidentified stuff, or everything is dead, etc, etc, etc.
To me shafted is you order a gold flake angel and you get a cherub angel.
Again sorry, but you'll find these fish in a number of places, an www.themarincenter.com seems like a good suggestion

It's been a while since I ordered from FFE. In the order form at the time they had a special instructions area. Specify that you will not accept any substitutions, do not ship partial orders, call you directly if anything is out of stock.

I had no problems after I started doing that.
