They most certainly won't make it on their own. There is also some reason this fish does not lend itself to commercial production. I remember speaking with Vince at ORA about this species. Maybe it was small spawns or something along those lines. Trying picking up a copy of Breeding the Orchid Dottyback by Martin Moe Jr. as rearing the larvae should be similar, I think. You might also go to breeder's registry for info.
