Hello,

I recently got an Undulated Trigger. I was able to observe his behavior with my other existing fish (1 Kole Tang and 1 Percula Clown) for about a day. The trigger adjusted extremely quick to the tank and seemed to get along fine with the others. I know that 1 day is not long to watch, but I had to leave the next morning for Hawaii for vacation.

When I returned today, I found that both fish have bites out of their tails and the clown has a large bitemark in his flesh about the size of 2 BB's. If that makes sense.

I wactually wasn't worried about aggression from the trigger. Even though they've got an aggressive reputation, I haven't really found it to be true at all. I've owned many many Triggers over the years and have found them to be very unaggressive. They don't put up with harrassment, but they are usually pretty self-centered. I've actually had more problems with fish like Tangs and Damsels being over-aggressive.

So anyways, first of all, I'm getting rid of the trigger immediately. But beyond that, can I treat the bite wound on the clownfish?? I've had him for 3 years and don't want to lose him. He's actually acting perfectly fine. Behaving normally. But just want him to heal.

It's been awhile since I've had any bite wounds and would appreciate a refresher. Also, will the bites marks on the tail grow back??

Thanks guys. I know this is really a reefkeeping forum, but you guys are the best.

Fins grow back but the flesh will not. It will scar. I would seriously think about removing/seperating these fish from eachother.

Thanks for the info. Like I mentioned, I wil be removing the trigger, which he is now. He's out of the tank.

They seem to be acting perfectly fine. I think they'll be ok.
