hi.
The width of the dolly is adjustable. The procedure is to jack up one side of the stand, (I use my bare hand, but almost broke my back...) slide the right side of the dolly in with your foot, put the stand down. Go to the other side, set up the dolly so that the left side can be sided in. Left up the othe side of the stand and realized that I can't stand with one leg while kickly the dolly in, so got to get my wife to help... yes, I lied when I said I did it all by myself...

hi.
This is a close up of the right side of the dolly. I hope it is obvious to you as to how the width of the dolly is adjusted by sliding the two sides closer.

My 72 bowfron was set up on the carpet. Not too bad as far as spills go - I put a cheap, replaceable area rug in front of it. But, it was set up only about 2 inches from the wall. Now I want to put a refugium on the back of it, but I don't have the 5 inch clearance. If the tank were on a wood floor, I might try draining half of the water and sliding it ever-so-gently a few inches. But because it is on carpet, forget it. I would have to drain the whole tank and pick it up to move it. OH well, live and learn.

hi.
Or you can do what I did. Drain a little of the tank, and put the stand on a dolly, and move it anywhere you want within the room.
