Say, what happened to that new seahorse site?

I have heard through the grapevine that the new seahorse site, syngnathid.org has been shut down for copyright infringement. Wanted to find out how true that was.....

So the ahhh....."other" site was shut down and this new one put up. Don't know why they didn't do that in the first place!

it's up on wetwebmedia. one of the younger posters seems to be fully "in the know". according to him it was their ISP who shut 'em down.

what i'd like to know is why is sydneyseahorse contacting ME to answer any questions i might (not) have?

As far as I can tell, the people from the new website have been madly emailing everyone they can trying to do "damage control." The new site was shut down by their Internet Service Provider. There's usually only one reason for that - violation of the terms of service agreement.

I am happy to see that he folks from Seahorse.org are doing well and "taking the high road" throughout all of this.
