Inspired by Brandon, here's my newest project, a 2.5 gallon picoreef. No water or anything yet, just finished the base and canopy this afternoon. Probably fill it later this weekend.
Sharkky, you and Glazer are two of a kind with woodwork aren't you?! Building that stand from the ground up is bad _ _ _.
The design looks perfect on both of you guys' tanks... I have no doubt yours and BDelaney's system will do all that you want it to do and more. So are you guys going to get a small goby or go coral-only? a densely packed BRefug and a densely packed LR aquascape will process everything just fine. 2.5g is likely the perfect size pico, because at that volume its definately a -pico- (easily transported, easy to dose/maintain) and yet there is still enough for you to have several kinds of organisms. What have you guys decided about the sealing approach? I bet either way is fine....I guess alot depends on the lighting you use. a few pc's and a couple radioshack dc fans won't overheat too much... glad you guys got your pics up they are great.
Bdelaney I also remember your lighting was very very blue--that actinic effect will look sweet in there.
I don't think I'll be putting any fish in my tank. Although a small goby might work, I'd like to keep the maintenace down as much as possible.
The top doesn't seal as well as I had hoped. I noticed some salt creep starting when I got back from the holiday weekend. I need to make sure that everything is completely dry before I put it all back together.
The light isn't nearly as blue as it looks in the pictures. It's an actinic/10000K combo PC bulb. I think the film picked up the blue a lot more than it should have.
