Bornemann and others describe the way Sarcophtyon spp. and other octocorals can become "necrotic" or "cheesy". I bought a "creamy yellow" colored Toadstool this week, and there are some spots on it that look darker yellow than others. Is this the "cheesiness?" I'm not certain the coral is sick, as most of the polyps are out and fully extended. Are there any pictures/articles on the web abotu disease in softies, particularly sarcophtyon? Can anyone describe what a sick one would look like?
