I have a moon wrasse and I would like to know what type of invert,I can use to clean the bottom of the tank that the wrasse would not kill :?:

What are you trying to clean? The top of a DSB or other type of bed?

I have a lunare wrasse in a tank with a DSB. It eats a mouthfull of sand once in a while. I do have a little cyano in spots on my bed, which I usually siphon. The activities of my tangs and wrasse keep the top of the bed stirred.

The only natural algae control in the tank are two tangs and three longspined sea urchins. The urchins stay on the rocks though. I do have a couple of left hand hermits in there, they are too big for the wrasse to eat...so far. I tried a few trochus snails early on, they didn't last long.

A sea cucumber might be safe.

I have a similar situation approaching me. I'm building a 300g FOWLR and I will have angels, tangs, butterflys,a hamlet, squirrelfish, hogfish, harliquin tusk, and a minatia grouper.

the only things that I thought of that won't get munched are Urchins,
Large crustaceans (crabs and lobsters) which I don't trust with $400 + of fish, and maybe an oreaster sp. star which I may try.

So I'll tag slong and see if anyone has any ideas.

I remember in my younger days when I had an agressive FO tank, I had two starfish, one brittle and one chocolate chip. I think both got attacked by either the picasso trigger and/or rainbow wrasse. It was an long time ago so I don't remember which fish did the damage.

I've seen one or two very large hermits (3-3.5" shells) that could probably withstand the typical lunar wrasse. If your tank doesn't have anything delicate in there, that's an option.

The other possibility is to make sure all your fish are big, so that a large pod population can survive and help clean. Not very effective in removing algae, but helpful in preventing it.

Goatfish are cool. But i don't know if they'll keep the bed clean everywhere. Worth a try though. Good luck
