I have used MH for years with VHO. I have setup a new tanks using PC's with three Actinics and two 10K's, as far as the actinics are concerned the are rated at 420n. The ?, what would this be = to in Kelvin rating's. I want to keep more blue on the tank, but want to make sure that doing so isnt hurting my needs of light, the tank is only soft coral. Its a 92 gallon corner tank. I removed the MH from the tank and converted it to soft corals. the room was way to hot where the tank is located.

hi.
There is no straight forward formular to get a color temperature from the spectral peak. However, most actinic bulb are nominally rated between 7K to 20K. In "orthodox" physics, color temperature only applies to black body radiation (continous spectrum), not flourescent bulbs.
