They just need light. I think they are one of the few corals that seem to get all their nourishment from light alone. I know I don't do anything special for them and they grow like weeds.

Xenias are awesome, I had one small frag turn to a huge colony and suddenly wither away. I was told they sometimes do that. I also think my tangs had something to do with it. They sometimes lost chunks overnight !! I have a friend that has a tank set up just for harvesting xenias to sell to the local shops and he told me all he adds is Seachems "Reef Plus" Concintrated Vitamin & Amino Acid Supplement. Everybody has a diff opinion when it comes to adding certain chemicals for diff things. Thats just his I guess..

Xenia do not have mouth and do not have gut (or digestive area). It is though that Xenia may absorb nutrient directly from water, and from photosynthesis.

Medium to stong light and medium to strong current are welcomed by most xenia. A high PH and stable alk is also welcomed. Some also believe that without iodine dosing that a xenia crash is inevitable.

hi.
OTOH, many people never dose Iodine without problem. IMO, regular water change is sufficient for Iodine.

Most prefer low to medium current. Under high current, some Xenia develops develop ugly (IMO) long "arms" instead of fuzzy, feathery pompoms.

I have never dosed Iodine. My Xenia is doing so well that I flushed them down the toilet more times than I remember over the last 3 years.

hi.
Check your Iodine, Minh. I bet that your concentration is negative 250ppm
