Jeez guys, cut Kurtis some slack!!!
He's learning... just like the rest of us do in this masochistic hobby of ours. Sometimes by our own mistakes, sometimes by the mistakes of others.
My grammar isn't that great either. I mean before college I couldn't even SPELL engineer and now I IS one!
P.S., Kurtis, when are you going to show us some photos of your tank?

Surprised the thread is still open. I have used lava rock in a few aquariums in the past. The holes in the fellers stone stuff make great places to prop corals. No ill effects that I was aware of.
Kirtis, temporarily unplug your game boy or whatever it is and take some shots of the tank!
We really want to know how it's coming.
Tangirl, you're right, I may be considered a newbie, but I have had plenty of mostly fresh water tanks in the past. Everything from African cichlids to Amazon red bellies. But all that carnivorous activity actually gets boring...
Anyway:
Kirtis for president!
