Here's a quick, albeit, temporary fix if you have aptasias or other "problem anemones". I had about 100 aptasia in my 95 gal. tank. After trying the Bergia slugs to no avail whatsoever (haven't seen any of the 5 I put in the tank. Plus, they were so small...about the size of a rice grain...so in my case...a waste of money).Call me a monster, but this works: buy a drill pump (it's a device that you hook up to your electric drill for pumping water, oil, etc...~ $6.00 @ Home Depot).Next time you do a water change, attach hoses to the drill pump, use the strong suction the drill provides, and suck the anemones right out of the tank. You won't get all of them, and you will leave some parts behind, but I put quite a dent in my aptasia population ! I've done this 3 times, but now I think I'll try a copper-banded butterfly to finish the job. Good Luck !(Be careful not to drop the drill in the water..you know, being electric and all !)

Seems much easier IMO to just use the kalk injection. Your bound to get lots of new ones pop up from this method. A Copperband is a real solution, and most of the time clears them all up.

I wasn't sold on the idea of the Copperband till Barry (Toptank) put one in his tank. It wiped out his aptasia in less than a week, and he had a bunch. He donated some aptasia to my tank when I bought some corals from him. I tried injecting and that worked ok but they spread fast and it bacame a nightly ritual. The I put in a little copperband and it took a week for him to get accustomed to the new tank then he mowed down the aptasia. I was impressed. I was gonna shoot it all up and there was nothing left. I am gonna keep him in there he is a pretty cool fish and doesn't bether anyone.

You could also try peppermint shrimp. Put one in my tank and about 10 disappeared overnight. I have not seen one come back since he's been in there.
