Before I upgraded my tanks, I had a 20H with 2x55 watt PCs. I kept the following corals successfully, with noticeable growth over the year the tank was setup:

Bubble coral
Yellow-tipped torch coral
Red open brain
Sarcophytons
Candycane/trumpet coral
T. squamosa clam

Hope that helps...

i have 4x55 on my 55 gallon. I have kept lots of softies and some LPS including open brains, frogspawn, torch, hammer, and disk(fungia). I have also kept birdsnest with minimal growth but doing ok. Haven't tried any clams yet but if I would dersea or squamosa would be the best choice.

I used to have a 55 with 4x96 w pcs.
It was a mostly sps tank, all of which did well. Could never keep mushrooms though...go figure!

See if you can find Eric Bornemans book on Aquarium Corals. Fabulous book.

I've got 2x28 w in a 35 g hex (24" deep) and I've got a torch, hammer, frogspawn, and toadstool leather thriving! I bought the hammer partially receded from the LFS and it's growing back into the area it had receded. All seem to be doing real well.

I have the following under regular flourecents 2 x 30w white, 2 x 30w Actinics.

Torches
Open Brains
Moons
Goinopora (emerald crab killed it but it was growing fairly fast)
Xenia
Shroomz

I have tried to keep acroporas in the past but lost them to Green hair algie, which is now dead hooray. so i might try them again, but ihave to say that i think there is maybe only two positions close enough to the bulbs for them, and i do intend on a system upgrade.
