AMIRACLE overflow is noisy

Has anyone modified this overflow to make it quiet? After I removed the filter media I can't get it to run quiet. I tried the Durso mod but I didn't have any luck. I am only using this wet/dry as a way to skim the surface of my 55 gallon.

I found that a burp tube quieted my amiracle down and allowed it to drain normally. Have you tried that yet?

I have never heard of a "burp tube".
Is this something I can make myself?

I stick a bioball on the drain hole and remember to clean it every now and then. Extending the pipe up a bit and sticking a bioball on it works pretty well.

i made this simple piece of pipe with a cap, cut a square in it and a hole on top for rigid airline tubing and it's very quiet.

Bob, A burp tube is just a length of air tubing slid down into the overflow drain line. Cut a length of air tube about a foot long and try it, you may have to move it around to find the right depth into the drain line. May not work in every case.
