I sat infront of my tank today wondering why I don't have much current anymore, you'd think 4 maxi-jet 1200's w/ e mag 9 returns would get the water moving. Well lo and behold 3 out of the 4 MJ's had ceased to work. Plugged them all in seperately after a good cleaning and they worked, plugged them into the wavemaster; nothing. p1, p2, and p4 have stopped working. Very bummed out, does anyone have the web-site for Red Sea? I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. Has anyone had this problem before?

I had a similar problem. The P3 outlet stopped working after about five months of use. I had to send the unit back to Red Sea in Arizona. That was four weeks ago. I still haven't heard back from them. Since then I've been running all four powerheads continuously.

I have had this problem twice. First time, 1 crapped out, then 3. they replaced it with no muss or fuss. I was very impressed. Now, on the newer unit, 1 is out, and I don't trust the rest of them. I believe Red Sea is sending me a new one, but I am not sure as I had email problems.
I am slightly concerned that they don't know why this happens. Anyone have any ideas?

If yours is out of warranty then open it up and check the resistors for the pumps that don't work. You'll probably find that is the problem. The resistors are color coded. Replace with a like resistor. They are soldered. Not hard. If the warranty is still valid send it in.

I assume that they use at least one relay for each plug. Relays are a life-limited part for many reasons. When I consult with companies (manufacturers) that have equipment, I recommend replacement relays be stocked (they are fairly inexpensive) so that when they fail they can be quickly replaced. Most small relays are plug/recepticle type so they can be replaced without soldering.

My port #3 is bad on my unit. I didn't want to send it back being I would not have anything to use. So I just use the other three. I guess I am not the only one with problems.
