Alright, right now in my 46 gallon I have 2 blue chromis, a yellow head goby, and an extremely mean spotted hawkfish. I want to get a lawnmower blenny to see if he'll attack some of my hair algae. Anyway, my hawkfish though is extremely mean towards new fish in the tank, has eventually killed a few in the past. I was wondering if he would get along with the blenny, and if not I want to get some other type of fish, what would you all suggest? The blenny is my first choice, but I'll take any recommendations. Also, I have tried everything to catch him, but can't. I'll be moving the tank within 8 months, and I'll deal with him then. thanks

Ben

I would suggest a tang, but not a baby. Probably a mid-sized hippo would fair well. In my experience hippos are very tough, but only in defending themselves. I've never seen one attack another fish. My hippo is the "boss" of the tank, but he is not the biggest fish. My yellow tang is much bigger, but the hippo has more attitude

A tang in a 46 gallon???? No, Not enough room. I'd say either wait till you get the hawk out or rearrange the LR when you add the lawnmower. I think it'll fit nicely in your tank.

This would imply that you have TWO tangs in a 55?

yep, there's also a yellow tang that i've had for about a year and a half. if he gets much bigger, i'll have to take him out. he's grown a lot in the last 6 months

I guess a Tang in that size is a matter of opinion. I've had my hippo in my 55 gallon for over 2 years now, and he seems very happy.
