Are these fish reef safe, or will they eat my corals? I just have a 29-gal with a clown and 2 chromis, is that too small for a beauty? And would that be too many fish? (the chromis' are very small, less than 1")

thanks guys

Yeah, I suppose you're right. See THIS is why I need to get started on a BIG tank!

I have had my coral beauty for 17 months. He has a taste for Xenia, and a Colt frag but has left everything else alone (leathers, polyps, LPS corals, SPS frags).

I think if that's your last fish in that tank, you'll be fine.

I have a coral beauty in my 29 gal. It is the only fish though. I keep a xenia, a few softies and some LPS. The fish hasn't bothered anything in my tank. I feed him small amounts twice daily of OSI flake and once or twice a week he gets some of the shrimp scraps that the LPS deosn't gobble up. He seems pretty happy.

Crap. Xenias and colt is what I have most of. Think it's a bad idea?

I'm glad to hear you think one more fish would be fine, though.

I would say that you are out of real estate space as for as fish population here. You can only safely house about 5 inches of fish in your tank. the clown has got to be at least an inch and half, and with the two damsels coming in at 1" each now, then you have 3.5" already used up. And you know these fish can grow bigger. I think the smart thing to do is either stay as you are, or get a bigger tank.
