I'm in the process of trying to figure out what kind of corner tank to get for this one area of my house. I would love to go Tenecor since they have the matching wood finish and stuff that would match my floor.
However, as you all know, tenecor can be prohibitively expensive for some of us.
And yes, I am not a true die hard reefer who is willing to take out that second mortgage on my house to finance a much larger dream tank.

Anyways, I was wondering who else makes a nice corner tank that also matches up with that nice "natural" wood finish from Tenecor.
I saw a 70 gallon Tenecor pentagon with stand and canopy all for a package deal of 1275. Of course it was a floor model that various people had bumped and scratched several times, but it was still reduced 225 dollars from its original retail price. How has experience been with you for Tenecor and can acrylic really retain that much value even though it's been sitting on the floor for almost a year and has various scratches and chips?

A company by the name of Perfecto makes a pentagon corner that I liked, but the last thing I need is a saltwater waterfall rolling down my staircase when I come home so if anyone has comments on the reliability of some companies over others then I'm all ears.

I know Oceanic is good stuff too but their corner tank only comes in black. The whole natural wood thing is very, very important to me. Well, not to me, but my girlfriend and if she doesnt like it then the new tank probably wont happen. It "has to blend in with the rest of the room's decor."

I had the 44g Perfecto pentagon for a few years before upgrading. Not the best reef tank, the 3 viewing panels in the front were a bit confusing (depending on where you looked from you could see 2 of the same thing) and the glass was a little thin. I'd say Oceanic or Tenecor would be your best bets but i'm always partial to a glass tank because its somewhat hard to scratch. All-Glass has a "modern series" that's very nice.

I was in the same matching the room type of dilemna. I spent several months and hours looking at different tanks and configurations. I settled on a 120 pentagon corner reef ready that is the exact same spec as a Tenecor. I saved money by going through my LFS who uses IPI( Innovative Plastics Inc.). I called IPI direct and they gave me the name of the LFS that use them. I negotiated upfront and told the LFS that he could not charge me more than a few percent over cost, which he did. It has a black acrylic top and base. I paid about 1200 for the setup. Just wanted to pass on the info that Tenecor and other big nam,es are not the only guys out there.

i have a 54G AGA corner. i would have done 90G but that would have been too big. i really like how it sits tight up to the wall. the curved glass is no more distorted than a bowfront, in fact i don't notice a distortion. the corner worked good for me. not sure about available finishes though. mine is black.

I also have a 54g AGA corner tank, natural wood finish, and am very happy with it. I agree the distortion is minimal and the side glass panels meet with the front bowed plate very neatly. Only one negative, it's harder to clean the glass of algea growth because of the curvature and depth than my rectangular 75g tank. Any hints in that area?

to clean the side glass, i made a pvc holder with a long handle. this holds the outside magnet.
