hey guys i've been running my phosban reactor with 150g of phosban for about a week now and i've seen no signs of the GHA(green hair algea cutting back).....i just manual removed it to see if it will grow back....is the flow to high or to low in the reactor or does it take a few weeks to work
-the flow is set just so the top of the phosban churns a bit

thats the way it should be set very slow flow. I dont know if a week you're going to see instant signs of change give it a few weeks? nothings instant keep up the water changes etc and it will eventually go away. How is your feeding and how much bioload do you have? excess nutrients may be the cause of the green hair algae

your algea problem may need more immediate remedy to keep it in check. try these suggestions :
shorten lighting period
less feedings
more wc
cooler temp
increase herbivores

Depending on how high your phosphates were, it will take a few weeks at least. Increase the size and frequency of your water changes. BTW, hair algae also feeds off of nitrates :headache:

-i shortened my light period to 4 hours
- i feed my clown every other day
-i only have 3 asteas(that do nothing) and 1 hermit
-i'm thinking of adding a 5.5g sump
-i guess i'll lower my temp
-i'm gonna start doing 1g w/c a day

anything else?

You should definately wait a while before yopu will see improvement on the hair algae also try pulling as much as you can by hand to get a jump on it.One more thing Country Critters will have everything you need and shouldn't be to far from you.Just be patient overall and the phosban will work.
