NO it is not legal to have or inport live rock or corals. and that don't make any sence to me because all the corals that Hawaii export.

I could be wrong but I think it is illegal to import anything to hawaii, and I believe you aren't allowed to have reef tanks. The reason is to prevent indigenious species from entering their waters. I think Hawaii only exports fish also, no LR or coral.

Yes it is very Illegal to import any "soft" species that is not indiginous to Hawaii. I am not sure if they have included SPS yet.

You can however keep a Reef Tank as long as it is stocked with local wild fauna.

Although usually discovered during searches for other reasons the police will confiscate you reef and fine you if you house non-indiginous species.

With all the types of Coral I rember from growing up in Hawaii, you can have a gorgeous tank with what is available.
