I am upgrading my lights this coming weekend from 8x55w pc's to 4x55w pc's and 2x250w MH and am concerned about the temp later this summer.
I am installing dual 4" fans in my canopy and have removed the back of the canopy completely to alow the most air flow possible.
My lights set right at 8" above the water surface and the fans seem to blow down into the water causing a slight ripple to the water.
Last summer with the 8x55 pc's and 1 4" fan, my tank temp hit 83 degrees when it was 90+ outside with a room temp of +/- 80.
I was looking at the Iceprobe chiller sold by Champion Lighting and am curious if there are any other reefers using this device?
Iceprobe
I think I will need to only pull my tank down about 5 or 6 Degrees (Hope anyway) and it sounds promising.
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
