Coral Beauties are generally cheaper and I've heard that Flame Angels have been having a hard time surviving in captivity within the past year. From what I've read both are a 50/50 change at nipping corals and doing damage. From what I've gathered from various posts and other readings is large fleshly corals like open brains and clams are at the most risk. BTW I have had a CB for about a year and it occasionally nips at xenia but not enough to do damage.

Pygmy Angels are considered to be 50% reef safe. Like the above threads. Even though one person may say that their CB or Flame is doing great in their tank, it may not be the same experience for you. So if you are willing to take the chance, then get a Flame
. I have 2 pygmy angles in my tank (Hawaiian Flame Angel, and a Midnight Angel). Both are doing great in my tank and I have had them for a little over a year. I will occationally see my Flame nip at my SPS, but after having a closer look, I noticed he was picking at the dead spots and where algae is growing. But overall, I'm happy with them. Again, there is a slight chance, but that's almost true with all organisms you put in your tank.
