OK here goes.If the K rating on a bulb means what colour spectrum the bulb burns at howecome we have to supplement our higher K lamps with 03 actinic?For example the uri actinic whites are supposed to be a 12000K bulb.So why not just use "say" 4 of them instead of 2 and 2?Anything over 10000K is in the bluer spectrum anyway?Please correct if I am wrong.

Antics have a differnet spectrum of light light that regular day light bulbs. That is why they say 1/2 day light and 1/2 antic. Antics are more for the plants and that that need that spectrum. Most people add antics to give a bluer appearance and have morning and everying light.

But higer the K bluer the bulb, but less lums, rememer that if you have corals/clams that will be a shock if you have 6k bulbs and switch to 12k bulbs that is about 1/2 to 1/3 less lums. They might not like it to well
