I just replaced my media in my Calcium REactor with Caribsea ARM. I have a few questions. Will the same amount disolve at 7.5, 7.0 and say 6.8, or is the method the lower the PH, the more that will dissolve? I bought this particular product because it supposedly dissolves at 7.0 compared to other products which dissolve at 6.5. The label also says it dissolves at a PH of 7.5. So is 7.0 the right number I should use and then just increase the flow if I need more replenishment?

I use Caribsea ARM, and love it. I don't worry about my effluent pH, however. I just set my bubble count around 20-30 per minute, and adjust the effluent flow rate based on where the system alk is going.

I initially tried to be precise on bubble count, effluent pH, etc., and eventually realized that my approach was making the Ca rxr more of a headache that I wanted. Now I just "eyeball" the bubble count and adjust the effluent flow rate as needed--it's much easier and my biomineral levels are fine.

That being said, 7.0 is neutral. I'd shoot for something slightly acidic, like 6.8, using your approach.
