i got a strange reading on my ammonia test last night. rather than turning yellow, or green, or blue, it just turned cloudy, milky white. any ideas what this means. nitrite was 0 and nitrate was 10ppm. i've got a 37 gallon which is coming off of it's initial cycle. the ammo and nitrites were 0 on the previous day. nitrate was about 10ppm. it's got 45lbs of rock, some of which was cured initially, some of which wasn't. 4" Southdown DSB. added 10 lbs of live sand on top of that. It's been about 5 weeks and the h20 parameters were looking good so i decided it was time to added the clean up crew. On saturday I added 20 margarita snails, 3 turbos, and 7 scarlet hermits. could adding these guys cause the ammonia to do give that weird reading. should i see another ammo spike from these guys. another question i've got is that there was a bunch of green growth on the uncured rock, most of which has died, turned white and fallen on top of my DSB. do i need to remove this stuff of will my clean up crew take care of it.
