Looking to purchase a matal halide hood for a 125 gal. and I have some questions.

1. What are "PFO" ballasts?
2. If given the choice, should I go with PFO, E-Ballasts, or Ice Cap ballasts and what are the advantages of each?
3. Money IS an object (trying to do this as cheaply as possible), for a 125 gal, would 3 175 watt MH bulbs with 2 96 watt PC actinic be enough for clams and SPS coral? I can toss in 2 more 96 watt PC for a total of 4 bulbs if needed - 2 actinic and 2 10000K (parting out an old hood). I don't want to buy this stuff twice.

Thanks,
~Todd

Since money is an issue go with the triple PFO ballast(175 watt)(See www.marinedepot.com). That would be great for what you want to do. PFO is a manufacturer. "E" ballasts are more expensive and Icecap ballasts are only for use with a certain bulb(I think Iwasaki's). PFO will burn any brand/any "K" rated bulb. Trust me, PFO is your best bet.
