Halloooo
I've got a 30 gal hex tank with about 40-45-lbs of live rock and a good 3" of sand (with about 5-6lbs of live mixed in). I have 1w/gal of lighting at the moment and am planning on investing in a 175W MH.
I am wondering about what kind of cleaning crew that I should build up in the tank as it continues to mature. Right now I have 5 blue leg hermits, 2-3 scarlet legs, 1 emerald green crab, 1 astrea snail, and 4-5 bumblebee snails.
I am planning on adding some soft corals, mushrooms, polyps, a couple small anemones, maybe a couple of smaller type hard corals.

Thanks
Ghost

Hey Ghost, Welcome to the boards!

You may regret having the hermits as some will make meals out of your snails.

I would get some Nassarious (sp?) and Cerith Snails.

I would also add another inch or two of sand.

You may want to consider getting a 250w MH instead of a 175w MH. If I remeber correctly the 30 Hex is pretty deep. A 250w will reach the bottom better and will give you enough light to keep about everything.

Just my thoughts

David

Hallooooo
I will definately be keeping an eye on the hermits and I am trying to get some Cerith snails.
I am still trying to find out about the lighting so I will also look into the 250.
Any other comments on stocking levels of the reef crew?

Thanks

Ghost
