Hello, I have had my new Dual PFO ballast running 2 175 Watt German 10,000K halide bulbs for about 2 months now. They don't seem as bright as they were for the first 2 weeks. I know this is normal. My question is, why are the inner bulbs darkened (look chared inside). Are the bulbs not positioned correctly? Is this normal?

Thanks!!!

Wasn't this a problem experienced with the Blueline 10KK lamps?

Sounds like you have some bum lamps to me.

I ran into the same problem with the 175w blueline bulb. I only used it a couple of months before I went to a 400w 10k Ushio. I never did call to complain about it. The bulb was really dim from the start.

Halide bulbs have a burn in period where they get a little yellower but this would make the bulb appear brighter IMO. Maybe you do have bum lamps, i would contact the supplier or the mfg. Is the inner pocket really dark? It should be a little grey because thats where all the halides are. HTH

Thanks for the replys. No, they are Hamilton, says it on the bulb and package. They were really bright in the beginning, but are now a little dimmer.

The inner bulb where the burning takes place is grey. Is this normal?
