Buck,
Actually, I own the Ocean Currents oscillators. I routinely soak mine in vinegar. I take the bottom cap off and the spigot and soak the whole thing in vinegar for about 2 days (I occasionally swish it in the vinegar too). This really works well. I had to purchase 3 oscillators - one for cleaning and two for operation. I would give the Ocean Currents products a "C" grade - they do work but the maintenance is fairly high and the repair involves taking screws out and cleaning the delrin off the threads, etc. But they do have a great small foot print and don't require any electricity.
