I have the same eel. I have had it for over a year and a half. I have asked too, and no one can tell me. Help me too if you figure it out. It was the first thing I bought when I got a sw tank. Now I want to get rid of it. It eats all small fish. No goby's or perc clowns for me. I have seen it snatch them up in less than 1 minute in the tank. Good luck!!!
P.S. I think the one I have it extremly smart. I have tried everything to catch him. I have no glass top and it still stays in the tank.
Yep , thats a black edged moray. They get about 24-28 inches max. They are common in the Gulf of Mexico off the west coast of Florida. I have had them in aquariums and they do fine. Watch out for those teeth-I've got a scar on my right pointer finger from one when I was about 10 years old , feeding it, it jumped up and grabbed my finger! Steve
