He has run out of brown diatoms (he loved them) but doesn't seem to like anything else. I have tried flake, formula one and Seaweed Selects (they just make a big mess).
Any ideas what to try and feed this fish? He seems a bit hungry.
Well I wish you better luck with your Black Blennie than I had with mine. It was the first and last fish I bought mail order. Mine NEVER accepted prepared foods...he manged to live for about 4 months off of the algae on the back glass of my tank. He slowly starved to death though....it was terrible. I will never again buy a fish which I have not seen eat first... Good Luck.
Jimmy
Mine eats everything your feeding yours! Was he eating when at the LFS you when you bought him? When I first bought mine his belly was caved in.He started eating right away, his color improved 100%!Start off with a small piece of seaweed select and fold it pieces and attach to clip or rock like damnhippo. If he doesn't eat it within 24hrs take it out or you will keep getting diatom blooms HTH
I don't know what he was eating at the LFS but he looked good (fat and colorful) and when I brought him home I had lots of brown diatoms for him to eat. Well thats been almost 3 weeks and he ate them all but he wants more.
I did try the Seaweed Selects on a clip but he wouldn't touch it. Now I can't get rid of the green film that the Seaweed Selects have created on the sand and rocks.
I am looking for some Nori to try, hope he just gets hungry enough to try something different.
I have tried frozen brine and bloodworms, No he didn't want those either. I think he is more in the likeing to algae. I just have to find the right one.
