What should I do to get this stuff to go away? Actually get a silicate removing media? Do multiple water changes with R.O. water? I might add this is a new tank so should I just let it go away by itself? Thanks, Reefer

It's normal in a new tank. Part of the maturing process. I currently have a brown dusting over every hard surface plus my sandbed. Some snails will eat it but be patient it will clear up on its own. Then you get to the green algae which pretty much NEVER goes away

Be prepared to wipe down your glass once or twice a week - get a good magnet - makes the job a lot easier.
