I am sorry if this is an uninformed question, but I am not familiar with the ORP parameter. I know what it represents, but I don't know what the acceptable parameter or range is.

My Aqua II this morning displayed the following:

Temp: 80.1
PH : 8.02
ORP : 421 at 0

I am doing some research on the net but I have not found much info yet. What exactly does that mean???

Thanks,

Eddi

Your ORP reading is fine.

In general, there isn't an especially sharp range of ORP that is OK, and one that is not.

Most reefkeepers no longer put any emphasis on ORP readings. Those that do are usually looking for sudden drops as an indication that something is wrong in the tank (e.g., something died).

I think RHF gave you the key piece of advice at the end of his posting - it's not the number that counts, (mine is around 480) but if it suddenly drops 50 or more points, then it's a sign something is wrong.
