I have a worm, approx 2.5 to 3 inches long (relatively skinny), pinkish/beige in color with small bristles on the side that came with a piece of cured Florida aquacultured rock. He continually grabs pieces of aragonite and shell pieces (with his mouth) and builds elaborate structures (he is gluing them somehow). His latest appears to be a "tube" from his hole in the rock to the substrate floor. He is protective of his hole when snails come around and will bite their shell to give them the hint. Otherwise, he's pretty shy.

Anyone seen this before??

I've heard a lot of talk about "bristleworms" before, but not one that builds structures. It's really cool!

This worm has completed his structure down from his hole to the bottom of the tank (approx 3 inches) and the structure goes into the substrate bed a bit. It was quite hilarious the other night. He snagged a piece of Formula One food and was in such a hurry going backward back into his hole the food got stuck (and therefore, so did he).
