Alex, put it back in the sea. A year ago, i got tired of keeping 1 picasso and 2 groupers who grew large in my tank too. I could not put anymore any new fish. One day, i just decided to set them free.

Reintroduction of many species spells sure death, Especially in Michigan where the waters are a bit colder than the fishes' natural habitat, not to mention that the salinity is quite different.

Well, if Deo did not mean local than Alex has a long trip on his hands. Those two species (Queen and Picasso) are not indiginous to any reef I know of off the East Coast, nor are many groupers sold at the LFS. Not only is reintroduction a bad idea for the fish, it can be destructive to the ecosystem as well. I just gave my over-grown Panther Grouper to my LFS to live in their 500 Gallon LR Tank. He is quite happy, gets fed often and is an attraction for the customers.

Please don't set it free. It's the wrong thing to do. Not to mention it's illegal to intorduce non-native species into native waters. Not to mention the non-native pathagens it may have picked up in your tank. Even if you could release it into it's native habitat, you shouldn't.
You're better off euthanising it.

Alex, why don't you try the belle isle aquarium? I've heard they have some real nice tanks.... maybe they can take it....

Don't forget to tell whoever you give it to that you'll be shipping it in a titanium barrel since Queen Triggers pack such a nasty bite and temperament.

Here's another option for you, I've seen many a queen trigger at a fish market in tropical locales, why not eat it? A foot long fish will give you a tasty meal!

OK I am not eating the fish or putting it in the ocean again. The belle isle aquarium does mostly fresh water. I am looking for someone who has a big enough tank and wants to buy it. It has to be picked up at is current location.

Queen is indeed an Atlantic triggerfish not rare off the FL east coast. Surprised you've never seen one in Mia. Picasso is Pacific. Alex and anyone else please don't ever release any captive fish back into the ocean.
