Hi thanks. are you the one that bought these from FFE? i got some too on Friday. i like the shape of your rock better than mine. i wonder if the orange polyps were dyed orange??? some polyps are have green tentacles, with orange center and these look natural. But the ones that are completely orange, i wonder. I see some orange dots (stains) on the rock, probably where polyps existed but maybe got torn off.

Mike - I doubt they are dyed. I have the same polyps and they have grown quite a bit. They have kept the same colors and look really nice.

They are definitely not dyed. They are a colonial polyp from the Fiji Islands. we have gotten in rocks with 4-5 different color varieties on the same rock. Some are brilliant orange with yellow or green centers. They really shine under VHO actinic. I believe the supplier calls it "colony rock" from Fiji. Sometimes the rocks are quite large. The polyps spread really well too. I will try to post a photo of a few pieces that are in our store this week that are exceptionally colorful. One piece is all bright orange polyps on a purple-coralline encrusted branchy rock. The other has several different color polyps on one rock weighing about 5-6 lbs. They are definitely not dyed. I will try to post some pics of ours soon. Enjoy

Yep I am the one who got them from FFE. Did you get them from Flying Fish Express also? I do not think they were dyed orange because since that picture was taking there are several small ones that opened and they are all as colorfull. I just think they are a little too tiny but some seems to have grown bigger already. Seems to be fast grower

There is also relatively big parts of the rock covered with burgundy colored coraline algae.

As for my rock, the only problem we had with it is it was a little big and hard to place in the tank. AND it was filled with hitchhikers..(That I do not really like)

Dobish: I got mine at Flying FIsh Express
http://www.ffexpress.com/

They were called: Fiji Orange Zoanthid Polyp
under number CC3203 and were sold 33$
I do not see them anymore on the website, they were in the collectioner's corner. But if you are really interested you can always called them (toll free) and ask them if they still have any or if and when they will have some more...good luck
