hi guys, im new to this board (this is my first post)- im new to saltwater tanks too actually...
but i had a question regarding my tank
i currently have a nano.. eclipse 6 with about 6 lbs of LR and some CC- its all finished cycling and i have one maroon clown and was wondering how hard it would be to add another one in- since they wouldnt be a breeding pair or nothing. I want to add one more fish in the tank and i thought another clown would be nice, if not- any suggestions on a nice fish that s/he could co-exist with? oh.. also- i know im gonna need to get my light set up first, but how hard is it to keep an anemone? the lady at the fish store was tryin to sell me a load of stuff tellin me its harder than corals but i dunno.. seems like theyre always in it for the money rather than helping us... thanks a lot guys..

Hi, I am not sure if you should add another maroon in that tank. If I read correctly it is a 6g tank? (not familiar with eclipse).
But a maroon clown can grow up to 6 inches. It seems it will already become a little small for him (her) .. I know it is a bit late now but you would have been better with true or false perculas.. they stay smaller.
And your LFS is right. Anemones are much harder to keep then corals. The survival in captivity for beginners is around 3 months only.. and a few years for experienced aquarists. If you ever decide to go ahead and still take one, besides your light, be sure you feed it properly.
Good luck

The main problem you are going to run into with that size tank is a build up of nutrients from the fish waste. You are really going to have to keep on top of your water changes and monitor your water quality. As far as adding another clown, I'd say it can be done but you will only double the burden on the system. Also when adding clowns I've heard it is best to have them at different sizes, one small and one large. I know of a lot of people who have success with nano systems but they really put a lot of work into it with water changes and all. It's no easy task but it can be done. Good Luck!!

adding another maroon is outta the question two marooons will kill each other unless they are a mated pair

adding another clownfish is almost impossible also as most maroons will attack other clowns

the only way to have a maroon with other clowns is to add the maroon last to an established tank with other tank raised clowns

you space negates even this and the maroon will almost certainly attack any clown added
