Which maxi jet to peplace Rio on Bakpak??

Is it the 900 or the 1200?

I already have an extra 900 would it be too small?

The Backpak comes with a Rio 600 which is a 200gph pump, and your 900 is rated at 230gph, so it should be at least as good if not better than the Rio 600.

It's a 46 gallon bow front. Not sure what I'm gonna put in it yet. It's a work in progress.

I have the Maxijet 1200 on mine with a venturi kit that I got from www.premiumaquatics.com. Works very well.

Using the 900, you'd be turning over the volume of your tank more than 4 times per hour. Should be plenty.

I tried the Maxijet 900 but only saw a slight increase in performance. I eventually went with a 1200 which works alot better.

That is what I was thinking. I just hooked the 900 up and I'm not too happy with the flow rate. In order to have enough air injection it seems that the flow rate is greatly reduced.
