I am reposting because I only got 1 response from the last post and am hoping for more.

Thanks Tanzy for your reply.

Now here's the original question

I have a reef devil III and never had the instructions for it. I am wondering how it is supposed to be positioned to work most effeciently. I would assume that the further the outlet is below the water level, the higher the level in the water column of the skimmer. I am wondering what is the best level to maintain in the column.

Thanks
Chris

Hi,

Replace the skimmer - that is the best advise around. I have one, and that is what
I'm doing...I hate this skimmer! ARGH!

Aside from that, if you can wait a couple of hours I'll be home. I have the instructions. I can read them real quick and let you know.

I believe the water should only be a tad over
the black box sump. The water line would be
visible between the sump and the clear
skimmer body. The bubbles they say should
raise to the top.

Again, I'll double check to make sure. Hang
10 and I'll catch you in a while!

The water line w/o air being injected must be 1" above the black housing.
The skimmer works best if the whole unit is above the sump's water line. Also another trick is to have PVC tube connect the output of the skimmer and pipe down below the water line,it acts like a "siphon" and draws water through the skimmer.

good luck
Joey
